Crooked Smile Remix - Day 1 Leak 1
#TheMonthOfBroadway officially begins. Day 1 Leak 1 is my remix version of J.Cole's "Crooked Smile" featuring TLC.
"Crooked Smile...that's a song all about loving yourself first and foremost." - J.Cole
J.Cole's original version of Crooked Smile was created for people to embrace their flaws an imperfections. My version was created with the same intentions but for Darker Skinned females to embrace their Black Beauty. I wrote this verse to acknowledge the beauty of Darker Skinned females, not with the intentions of creating a Dark Skin vs Light Skin debate. I believe beauty comes in all complexions, races, sizes etc. I just wanted to step away from what mainstream media portrays as the "right look". It's not a race thing, it's not a black and white thing or light vs dark thing. Music is a universal language an sometimes we as artist have to use our platforms to create togetherness or at least create the dialouge. But I'm not trying to get too preachy preachy lol. #TheMonthOfBroadway
With Libra Season in full effect and my birthday coming up October 6, I was sitting around and thinking what can I do for my supporters to show them my appreciation. An I realized I had a bunch of new material that I've been writing and working on. So I decided to make October #TheMonthOfBroadway. The Month of Broadway will consist of "31 Days 31 Leaks". Starting October 1st I will be releasing new material every day of the month whether it's a remix, original song, feature, video etc. If you've been following me for a while you know not only do I take pride on trying to provide quality content but I also pride myself on hard work. So this is my shot at showing you my version of the Best of Both Worlds. I hope you enjoy it. But yeah it's official, October is now #TheMonthOfBroadway. Spread the word and stay tuned.
